When you enable calendar-aware planning, Steady examines a relevant time window to estimate how much open and uninterrupted time the day appears to contain. That can support a Tight, Balanced, or Open suggestion.

The calculation needs times and availability in the moment. It does not need Steady to preserve event titles, attendees, identifiers, or a history of your schedule. Raw event details therefore remain optional and in memory rather than being written into Steady's persistent store.

Calendar analysis and calendar ritual events are separate features. During onboarding, “Block the time in my calendar” is on by default; you can turn it off before continuing. If you leave it on and grant calendar access, completing rhythm setup adds recurring planning and closing events at your chosen times, each with its own calendar alert. You can also turn calendar ritual events off in Settings.

You can use the core planning loop without either feature. If calendar access is unavailable, you can still choose the day's capacity yourself.

Use the minimum data needed for the feature, for no longer than the feature needs it.
