Steady stores your goals, commitments, daily plans, reflections, and reviews on your device and uses your private iCloud database to synchronize that record across your devices when iCloud is available. You do not need to create a Steady account. Insights are calculated on your device from that record.
Calendar-aware planning is optional. When enabled, Steady reads today's calendar events to estimate free time and longer gaps for focused work. Raw event titles, identifiers, attendees, and intervals are not saved in Steady's data store. During onboarding, “Block the time in my calendar” is on by default; you can turn it off before continuing. If you leave it on and grant calendar access, completing rhythm setup adds recurring planning and closing events at your chosen times, each with its own calendar alert. You can also turn these events off in Settings.
Notifications are also optional. Reminder copy uses limited, privacy-safe facts and avoids placing goal or commitment titles on the lock screen.
AI assistance is optional. Steady uses Apple Intelligence to suggest commitments, ask reflection questions, and write monthly recaps from a limited selection of your goals, commitments, and reflections. Requests can use Apple's Private Cloud Compute or an on-device model. If you allow Reminders access, incomplete reminder titles, notes, lists, and due dates can also inform suggestions. Completing a linked commitment updates its reminder. You can turn AI assistance off in Settings.
Steady uses PostHog for app-usage analytics and technical error reporting. Analytics uploads contain only app events, timestamps, and metadata, such as commitment counts, permission status, and app or device information. Your goal and commitment titles, notes, reflections, and calendar or reminder content are not uploaded to PostHog for analytics. Steady uses RevenueCat to manage Steady Plus purchases and subscription status. These services use a shared app user identifier to associate usage and purchases.
In Settings, you can export a JSON copy of your record or delete your Steady data. Deletion also resets your settings and removes Steady's calendar rituals. It does not cancel a Steady Plus subscription or delete records held by analytics and purchase services.
